Through service-learning projects, business students at Seattle Pacific University serve as a vital component in the success of local businesses, churches, nonprofits, or government agencies. Faculty include service-learning projects in their classes whenever possible, particularly when a community partner requests a specific project.
How It Works
Students serve in many ways. Leveraging business skills learned in the classroom, you may help boost an organization’s productivity and efficiency by providing:
- Planning
- Analysis
- Evaluation
- Implementation
As you participate in service learning, you'll also:
- Discover a potential career direction.
- Develop leadership and management skills.
- Learn about a community’s needs.
- Apply what you learn in the classroom.
Recent service-learning examples include:
- Creating a marketing plan for Catholic Social Services.
- Developing a website for Four Paws Veterinary Service.
- Analyzing inventory and scheduling at the Essential Baking Company.
- Conducting a market feasibility analysis for Holland America Lines.
- Developing a floor-layout study to improve inventory flow at an REI store.
